What the Exercise With Oxygen Therapy Devices is
EWOT was invented by Dr. med. Manfred von Ardenne of Dresden, Germany, who called it Multi Step Oxygen Therapy. It was later developed into the LiveO2 adaptive contrast and standard systems by Mark Squibb of Whole Health Network, Colorado.
The user exercises while breathing from a reservoir of high concentration oxygen. In adaptive contrast the gas mixture is switched to a reduced oxygen blend for short intervals and then back, which drives a far stronger response than steady oxygen alone.
A full system includes the reservoir bag, mask and tubing, an oxygen concentrator and a bike or rebounder.
